UTM Link Builder

Build tracked links for Facebook, TikTok, WhatsApp and email campaigns.

Enter your page address to build the link.

Visits from this link appear in Google Analytics → Reports → Acquisition → Traffic acquisition, grouped by source, medium and campaign.

Use the same lowercase names every time (for example always "facebook", never "Facebook" or "fb") so results stay in one row.

About the UTM Link Builder

UTM parameters are short tags added to the end of a link, such as ?utm_source=facebook&utm_medium=social&utm_campaign=dashain_sale. When someone clicks the link, Google Analytics records exactly where they came from.

With UTM links you can see whether your Facebook post, TikTok video, WhatsApp broadcast or printed QR code actually brought visitors and sales.

How to use the UTM Link Builder

  1. Paste the page address you want to promote.
  2. Click where you'll share it (Facebook post, TikTok, WhatsApp…) to fill source and medium.
  3. Give the campaign a short name, such as dashain_sale_2083.
  4. Optionally add a keyword or content label to compare ads.
  5. Copy the tracked link and use it in your post, ad, bio or QR code.

Tips

  • Keep names lowercase and consistent; the tool does this for you.
  • Don't use UTM links between pages of your own website — use them only on links you share elsewhere.

Frequently asked questions

Which UTM parameters are required?

Use at least source (where: facebook), medium (type: social) and campaign (which promotion: dashain_sale_2083). Term and content are optional.

Do UTM links hurt SEO?

No, when used on links you share on other platforms. Don't add them to links between pages of your own website, because that overwrites the visitor's real source in Analytics.

Where can I see the results?

In Google Analytics 4, open Reports → Acquisition → Traffic acquisition and choose Session source / medium or Session campaign.

Can I use UTM links in QR codes and print?

Yes. Use a source such as qr and a medium such as offline, then turn the link into a QR code for flyers, menus or shop counters.
